You can still access all our education classrooms from our journey on board One Ocean on YouTube under ‘Exploring by the Seat of your Pants/Around the Americas’. Our first class: was with Harry Stern from APL’s Polar Ice Center. He studies Arctic sea ice using satellite data. Current interests include the changing sea-ice habitat of polar bears and the history of Arctic exploration. Plus, the crew from sailing vessel One Ocean deployed another microSWIFT buoy out in the Davis Strait. The buoy data collected was wave height, ocean temperature and salinity and could be tracked for up to 5 weeks. Watch the class here:
